Training as an osteopath

Osteopaths complete a four or five year medical degree, together with intensive clinical training. This enables practitioners to diagnose and treat, and where necessary refer for diagnostic imaging, biomedical testing, and specialist care. 

 

Unfortunately there is currently no training available for osteopathy in South Africa. All osteopaths registered with the allied health professions council of South Africa (AHPCSA) have been trained in the UK or Europe.
