Working as an Osteopath
To register as an osteopath in South Africa you will need to have your qualification verified by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Click on services and then on Evaluation of Foreign Qualifications.

Once your qualification has been verified you will then need to register with the Allied Health Professions Council of SA (AHPCSA). You will be asked to do a Jurisprudence Test - this is done via fax or email. Upon registration you will receive a registration number. This will entitle you to register with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF). The BHF issues you with a practice number which is really important as it is this number that is needed to ensure that your patients can be reimbursed for their consultations/treatments. You also need these registration numbers to be able to obtain Indemnity Insurance.

Registration renewal with both the BHF and AHPCSA is yearly. The fee structure for the APHCSA is available on their website.
